The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 received the One UI 8 (Android 16) update worldwide in early October. Less than a month later, Samsung has started rolling out another software update for the two foldables, this time delivering the latest security fixes.
The new update was first released in Korea on October 27, followed by Europe and several other regions. It’s now expanding to both carrier-locked and unlocked variants of the Fold 5 and Flip 5 in the United States.
As of this writing, the update appears to be available for most carrier versions. To check if it’s live for your device, head to Settings > Software update and tap Download and install.
As mentioned earlier, this update delivers security fixes to the two foldables. The October 2025 security patch fixes 14 security flaws in the Android operating system and also includes fixes for 12 Samsung-specific vulnerabilities.
