The Galaxy S24 Ultra has been making holes in people's pockets — literally. No, that’s not a misspelled idiom. When the phone debuted in 2024 at a premium price, it was already a wallet-burner. But some S24 Ultra owners are discovering a more literal problem: its corners are sharp enough to shred fabric.

Users have reported everything from tiny holes in pockets to full-on jeans casualties. The S24 Ultra subreddit has been a battlefield for the past year, chronicling the phone’s fashion attacks.

A few examples (example 1; example 2; example 3) were recently highlighted in a tweet by a Samsung fan, reminding everyone that while the Galaxy S24 Ultra looks sharp, it’s not always a good thing.

It’s close to perfect, though — at least when it comes to the S Pen. The stylus peaked with the S24 Ultra, making it arguably the best (and last true) Galaxy Note experience yet.

Sharp corners aren’t just a threat to jeans. They also make the phone less comfortable to hold. Some users report edges digging into palms or pinkies, turning a flagship into a minor pain.

The good news? Samsung seems to have learned its lesson. The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 2025 sequel has softer corners, and leaked renders of the upcoming S26 Ultra suggest an even gentler design — even the S Pen’s clicker button may get a curve.
