A few days ago, IDC said that Samsung was the number one smartphone brand globally in the third quarter of this year. Well, another market research firm has now crowned the South Korean tech giant the leading brand in the global mobile market in Q3 2025.
Omdia has published an analysis of the global smartphone market in the third quarter of this year. According to it, Samsung shipped 60.6 million smartphones, giving it a 19% market share and the top position on the chart.

In the same quarter last year, Samsung shipped 57.5 million smartphones and had the same 19% market share. It means that the brand has grown annually by six percentage points. That’s a great achievement. The firm says that the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy A07, and Galaxy A17 were growth drivers.
In the second position is Apple with 56.5 million iPhone shipments and an 18% market share. Xiaomi, Transsion, and Vivo followed with 43.4, 28.6, and 28.5 million smartphone shipments, getting them 14%, 9%, and 9% market shares, respectively.
