Apple's WWDC 2025 event went live yesterday and kept thousands of fans glued to their screens for about an hour and a half. The US tech giant revealed the next chapters in its iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS sagas, and surprise! Samsung was watching Apple's WWDC 2025 event all along.
In fact, it didn't take long for Samsung US to mock Apple for an underwhelming conference. Samsung US didn't even allow WWDC 2025 to end before taking shots at its rival on the X social media platform. Here's what Samsung had to say.
Samsung US had three main points to make during WWDC 2025, particularly regarding Apple's new Liquid Glass design language for iOS 26 and AI.
The quotes below (with timestamps) are lifted straight from the official Samsung Mobile US X feed, where they were posted as WWDC 2025 was underway.
So far, many people don't seem to be very impressed with what Apple had to show at WWDC 2025. Some even pointed out that what Apple is doing, Microsoft did many years ago. Many believe that Liquid Glass imitates the Windows Aero UI for Windows Vista, an OS that very few people remember fondly.
Many social media users have also criticized Apple's new Liquid Glass design language, particularly the (optional) all-clear look, for being difficult to read. Nevertheless, iOS 26 is in beta, and some things could change by the time the update rolls out widely.
Samsung also underwent a redesign phase with One UI 7. But even though the big update introduced a new blur engine, Samsung exercised more restraint in how it implemented it. The visual effects are a lot more subtle.
As for AI, it is true that Samsung beat Apple to the AI race long ago by delivering AI features way ahead of Apple and to a wider range of devices. But whether Samsung's AI is superior to Apple's from a technical point of view is a different story.
