The past few years were nothing to write home about for Samsung's semiconductor division. Consequently, the division didn't receive any significant performance bonus increases.

Samsung gives employers across the conglomerate a performance bonus at the end of the year. The bonus is calculated based on several metrics, including the business unit's performance. As the semiconductor division's fortunes have changed in 2025, so has its bonus entitlement.

2026 could be a bumper year for this division's employees

According to reports out of South Korea, Samsung has announced the performance bonus for employees of its Device Solutions or semiconductor division. Employees are set to receive 43-48% of their annual salary as the performance bonus.

Samsung pays this performance bonus to employees in January every year. It's the largest bonus incentive of its kind paid to the employees of Samsung Electronics. Employees are entitled up to 50% of their individual annual salary as bonus.

There have been times in the past, as recently as 2023, where employees of the semiconductor division received no bonus pay due to the challenging business environment. Employees received a 14% performance bonus last year as the division started to recover.

It has closed out 2025 on a high, with memory prices skyrocketing and renewed customer interest in Samsung Foundry. The division is well positioned to take full advantage of all opportunities emerging for 2026 and beyond.
