Samsung, apart from making gadgets and home appliances, also manufactures components for various types of devices. That includes camera sensors for smartphones. Currently, the brand offers thirty-six models, and all these sensors carry the ISOCELL branding. Well, it looks like the tech giant is developing a totally new camera sensor (lineup), called DeepPix.

Samsung has applied for trademark protection for the ‘Samsung DeepPix’ brand in Argentina, Europe, and the US (via Galaxy Club). According to the filings, it is a ‘Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor.' In other words, it is a camera sensor. Unfortunately, there is no information about which kind of products this camera sensor is intended for.

Samsung is being criticised for offering new phones, even the flagship models, with the same camera sensors as their predecessors. Maybe the brand was doing so because it was working on something big, like DeepPix, and this could be the solution to the problem.

Samsung has many smartphones in the pipeline, including the Galaxy A57, Galaxy S26 series, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 duo. So, it is hard to say which phones may debut the brand’s upcoming camera sensors, if it is at all intended for smartphones.
