On 29 September, Samsung released a software update to the Galaxy S23 series that offered the much-awaited One UI 8.0 (Android 16). However, almost a month later, on 21 October, the brand paused the rollout for reasons unknown to us. Well, the company has resumed offering it.
When Samsung initially released One UI 8 for the Galaxy S23 lineup, we hadn’t updated our Galaxy S23 to the new firmware. By the time we tried doing it, Samsung had paused the rollout. Well, today, we checked for the update once again, and voila, we received it, as you can see in the screenshot below.

Samsung could have resumed offering the update a few days ago. So, if you are someone who couldn’t update your Galaxy S23 to One UI 8 when the brand released it initially and weren’t able to get it later as the company paused the rollout, you may want to check for the update again.
To check for the update, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Samsung is expected to start rolling out the next OS customisation for Galaxy smartphones, One UI 8.5, by February or March next year. You can check out the key upgrades that it offers, at least the ones we have discovered in the leaked build, in our video below.
