Samsung's 2025 TV lineup comes with the its best display technology, and the company has been collecting stamps of approval from leading certification bodies across the globe.
The latest comes from TÜV Rheinland, a global certification organization that's based in Germany. The organization has granted Samsung's 2025 QLED TV lineup with the ‘Real Quantum Dot Display' certification.
This certification serves as verification that Samsung's QLED TVs are fully compliant with the global standards for quantum dot display structure. In other words, when you're paying Samsung for a quantum dot display TV, you're getting a quantum dot display TV.
The standards that Samsung's latest QLED TVs comply with include the International Electrotechnical Commission 62595-1-6, which lays out the application of quantum dot light converting unit with blue light sources for conventional QLED displays.
TÜV Rheinland has granted this certification after analyzing the light spectrum that's produced by these TVs, confirming clear separation between red, green, and blue, which is an important metric of color accuracy.
This certification now officially validates Samsung's QLED TVs as true quantum dot displays, including the Neo QLED 8K QN990F, QN900F, Neo QLED 4K QN90F, QN85F, QN80F, QN70F, and QLED 4K Q8F, Q7F, and Q6F models.
Samsung also recently picked up a certification from Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) for cadmium-free design of its quantum dot technology, highlighting the company's environmentally focused approach to eliminate the use of cadmium.
