Last month, Samsung smartphones, after a very long time, received a Google Play System update, which was a relief for users looking forward to one. Surprisingly, shortly after that, Galaxy phones received two more Google Play System updates, bringing them up to the January 1, 2026, patch level. Now, Samsung smartphones are getting yet another Google Play System update.
The latest Google Play System update for Samsung phones is 68MB in size. After installing it, the Google Play System update level changes to February 1, 2026. We received the update on our Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24, and Galaxy S23 in India. Based on this and reports from users online, it appears that Samsung is rolling out the update to a wide range of Galaxy devices globally.

To install the update, go to Settings > About phone > Software information > Google Play System update. According to Google, Google Play System updates for February 2026 bring upgrades to Android System Intelligence, Android WebView, Google Play services, Google Play Store, and Private Compute Services.
Speaking of updates for Galaxy smartphones, Samsung is rolling out the February 2026 security patch. It has also detailed the March 2026 security patch, but hasn't started rolling it out. The brand has also released updates to multiple Good Lock modules, including One Hand Operation +, LockStar, and Theme Park.
