Besides launching its first XR headset today, Samsung also announced its plans to launch AI glasses. The South Korean firm has confirmed that it will launch AI-powered smart glasses sometime in the future and that it is working with Google and fashion eyewear brands for those wearable devices.

Samsung partners with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker for AI glasses

Samsung has announced it is working on multiple form factors for its XR device lineup. One of these form factors includes AI glasses, with the company partnering with globally popular eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. These collaborations aim to deliver “stylish, fashion-forward eyewear” and “exceptional customer experiences” with Samsung’s AI glasses.

The company hasn't revealed the name of its AI glasses, but said that they will offer a seamless connectivity, built on top of Android XR. Google, Qualcomm, and Samsung have jointly developed Android XR, which deeply integrates with Gemini, Google's family of multimodal AI models.

While the Galaxy XR is available for purchase in some countries already, Samsung hasn't revealed information about when it plans to launch its first AI glasses.

Previous reports claim that the company is planning to launch its first display-free AI glasses in 2026 and a model with an AR display in 2027. These AI glasses will take on Ray-Ban Meta Glasses and Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses in the future.
