Samsung has launched two new cassette air conditioners in India: WindFree 1-Way Cassette AC and WindFree 4-Way Cassette AC. These are the brand’s first cassette ACs in the country with the company’s WindFree technology, which disperses air through thousands of small holes to prevent cold drafts of air and run more silently.
Along with the WindFree technology, the two models also feature smart connectivity (over WiFi), letting you control them through Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Samsung Bixby, and Samsung SmartThings. The South Korean tech giant says that these air conditioners are not only designed for India but are also manufactured in India.

The WindFree 1-Way Cassette AC, as the name suggests, sends air from only one direction. Available in three capacities — 1 Ton, 1.5 Ton, and 2 Ton — it is aimed at small to medium spaces. On the other hand, the WindFree 4-Way Cassette AC sends air from all four directions. Available in four capacities — 1.5 Ton, 2 Ton, 3 Ton, and 4 Ton — it is aimed at medium to large spaces.
Samsung’s Smart WindFree Cassette Air Conditioners start at INR 65,000 (excluding GST) and will be available from the brand’s authorised commercial AC channel partners from October 2025. We believe non-business consumers can also purchase these ACs and use them at their homes. Samsung also offers split air conditioners with the WindFree technology for home usage in the country.
Commenting on the launch of the new ACs, Samsung India’s Head of System AC, Vipin Agarwal, said:
“Comfort today is no longer about just cooling a room, it is about creating an experience that is intelligent, sustainable and truly tailored to the needs of our consumers in India. Our new WindFree
Cassette ACs, proudly Made-in-India, bring together the premium elegance of design, the reassurance of eco-friendly refrigerants, and the intelligence of SmartThings connectivity.
He further added, “They are built to deliver not only powerful performance but also lasting well-being, saving energy, reducing environmental impact, and offering a new dimension of comfort. With this launch, we are setting a benchmark for how air conditioning can be smarter, greener, and more attuned to the evolving lifestyle of businesses and consumers across the country.”
