Samsung has confirmed that it's going to hold a virtual product launch event in October to talk more about its innovations in multimodal AI, but that's not the most exciting part.

The company will formally unveil its Project Moohan XR headset at the event, and those pre-register right now will receive a $100 credit to put towards other eligible products.

Samsung's big XR break is just around the corner

Samsung has been showing off the Project Moohan headset since the start of this year. It was most recently displayed at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit last month, safely enclosed in a glass box like it has been since it was first unveiled.

The company has understandably not revealed any details about the headset today, not even what its final name is going to be as it's still referring to it as Project Moohan. Reports indicate that it will be called the Galaxy XR.

Those questions will be answered on October 21, 2025 at 10 p.m. ET at Samsung's “World's Wide Open” event. The event will be live-streamed on Samsung's website and its YouTube channel. Pricing and release information will be confirmed then.

Samsung has developed the headset in collaboration with Qualcomm, which provides the chipset, and Google, which has developed the Android XR platform. Earlier reports suggest that the Galaxy XR will feature two micro-OLED displays, each with a 4K resolution and up to 29 million pixels.

It will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR+ Gen 2 and will have a bunch of sensors to track gestures and eye movement.

Those who pre-register to buy the product when pre-orders open will receive a $100 credit to use for any additional eligible products. This credit doesn't get you a discount on the headset's price, rather, it just takes the edge off for any accessories that you may wish to buy for it.
