Counterpoint Research has published an analysis on the shipments of smartphones with foldable displays globally in Q3 2025. According to it, Samsung shipped the highest number of foldable phones among all the brands last quarter. 64% of the total shipments, to be precise.
For your reference, the company had a 56% share in the shipments of foldable phones in Q3 2024. It means that the South Korean tech giant grew 32% year-over-year. According to the firm, the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 helped the brand gain market.

In the second and third positions are Huawei and Motorola with 15% and 7% market shares respectively, just like Q3 2024. Honor, Vivo, and Xiaomi are in the fourth, fifth, and sixth places with 6%, 4%, and 2% market shares, respectively.
According to the report, the global smartphone market grew 14% YoY, and it will grow even further in 2026. That will give Samsung the opportunity to expand. However, with Apple launching a foldable iPhone next year, it will be tough for the South Korean tech giant to expand its footprint.
On a related note, a few days ago, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z TriFold, the brand's first smartphone with a tri-folding display. You can check out its unboxing in the video below.
