Samsung brought AirDrop compatibility to Quick Share with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series. Until now, the feature was exclusive to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, the company is now ending that exclusivity and expanding the feature to more devices.
Today, Samsung announced that it is extending the One UI 8.5 Beta Program to additional Galaxy phones. It also revealed that Quick Share on select devices running the One UI 8.5 beta will gain AirDrop compatibility. The supported devices are listed below:
Late last year, Google became the first Android device maker to introduce native AirDrop compatibility for sharing files with iPads, iPhones, and Macs. It achieved this by updating the Quick Share wireless file sharing system. Samsung later brought the same functionality to its devices with the Galaxy S26 series.
