A few days ago, Samsung released the November 2025 security patch to its smartphones with foldable displays from this year and last. Now, the brand is offering the latest security update to its foldable phones from 2023, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5. It fixes 25 security issues present in the previous version of the OS.
However, there’s a catch. Samsung is currently offering it only in its home country, South Korea. That being said, we expect the brand to release it in other regions in the next few days. The update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 carries firmware version F946NKSS5FYK3, and that for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 carries firmware version F731NKSS5FYK3.
To update your Galaxy Z Fold 5 or the Galaxy Z Flip 5 to the latest firmware, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once Samsung releases the update internationally, we will make the firmware files available in our database for you to download and install manually using Samsung’s Odin tool for Windows PCs.
Samsung is expected to debut the next version of One UI for Galaxy smartphones and tablets, One UI 8.5, with the Galaxy S26 series in February 2026. Recently, a firmware for the Galaxy S25 with One UI 8.5 leaked, which revealed all the changes it offers. You can check them out below. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 are eligible for it.
