It seems Samsung is discovering bugs that slipped through the cracks in the One UI 8 update for multiple devices. The company recently pulled the update for the Galaxy S22 series just a week after its release, and now it has done the same for the Galaxy S24 lineup.
The One UI 8 firmware for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra is no longer available on Samsung’s servers. For now, this appears to be limited to South Korea, and it’s unclear if Samsung plans to do the same in other markets.
Interestingly, South Korea is also the only country where the company hasn’t yet resumed the update's rollout for any Galaxy S22 model after taking it offline. In other regions, it’s only the Galaxy S22 Ultra that hasn’t started receiving the update again.
The Galaxy S24 series was updated to One UI 8 almost a month ago, and it's odd that Samsung took this long to notice whatever issue(s) prompted it to pause the rollout so many weeks later. By now, every Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra owner will have already updated to the latest version of Android and One UI.
Thankfully, no major issues have been reported by users so far, so there may not be a big reason for concern. Still, we’re trying to find out why Samsung has been halting the One UI 8 rollout out of the blue, and we’ll update you as soon as we learn more.
