Samsung's newest flip phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, is now official. The company has unveiled the device at its Unpacked event in New York City. As you'd expect from one of the company's flagship devices, it offers best-in-class software support that we've come to expect from Samsung.

So it's not surprising to see the confirmation from Samsung that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will get seven years of Android OS upgrades.

Story continues after the video

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 comes with Android 16, the latest version of Android from Google, straight out of the box. Seven years of Android OS upgrade means that it will be supported until Android 23, which is way down the line. Users can rest assured that they'll continue to have access to the latest software features even if they don't upgrade their phone for several years.

Android 16 is accompanied by Samsung's One UI 8 on the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The latest iteration of the company's software brings further refinements to changes that it made with One UI 7 and also continues to improve the Galaxy AI experience on the device.

Samsung has also promised to provide seven years of security updates to the Galaxy Z Flip 7, so they can have peace of mind that the company will ensure the safety and protection of their data through regular security maintenance releases.
