Beyond everything else a smartwatch can do, one of its most basic functions is to tell the time. It's a bit ironic when an app that enables exactly that is unable to run.
Several reports have surfaced online highlighting an issue with the Google Clock app on Samsung Galaxy Watch models. It seems the app is no longer working on Samsung's wearables.
Reports about the app not working on the Galaxy Watch have been around for nearly four weeks now. They've been posted on Reddit and other online platforms where users have voiced their concerns about the app's issues.
It has emerged that the Google Clock app issues are limited to just the non-Pixel smartwatches. This suggests it may be a problem on Google's end as any other Wear OS smartwatch that's not a Pixel Watch seems to be facing this issue.
Some users also point out that their Galaxy Watch models have been marked as incompatible in the app's listing on the Play Store. It doesn't even show the button to install the app, even though the Google Clock app works as it should on phones, so the issue is limited to the Wear OS version.
Sideloading the app doesn't work as well, so that rules out any Play Store bug. The issue has been highlighted on Google's complaint page as well but the company hasn't responded as yet. Evidently, Galaxy Watch owners can't do much else than wait, because this isn't entirely up to Samsung to fix. Fortunately, there are plenty of other clock apps to choose from.
