These instructions work on the D407 (also D347, D357):
Samsung - General
1 Power off device and remove the SIM card
2 Power on the handset
3 Enter: # 0 1 1 1 * unlock code #
4 Press the SEND key
Result:
* Display should read "Personalization Cancelled"
* If the display reads "Not Yet Personalized" the handset was already unlocked
