Samsung, in the first six months of launching its current lineup of non-foldable flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S25 series, sold 22.7 million units of these devices combined. Well, the brand is planning to sell slightly more units of its next lineup of non-foldable flagship phones, the Galaxy S26 series, in the same period of time.

Maeil Kyungjae has published an article on Samsung’s sales target for Galaxy phones and tablets for 2026. According to the report, the tech giant aims to sell 24 million units of the Galaxy S26 series in the first six months of launching it, which is 5% more than the Galaxy S25 lineup. Furthermore, it plans to sell 35 million units of the upcoming phones annually.

Galaxy S26 series may be better than most people are expecting it to be

Samsung is expected to offer the Galaxy S26 series with the Exynos 2600 chipset in most regions around the world and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in others. Many people think that the former may not be able to stand up to expectations.

Considering that, and rumors claiming that the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ may not offer enough upgrades over their predecessors, many people have been expecting the Galaxy S26 series to sell in lower quantities than the Galaxy S25 lineup.

However, Samsung’s sales target tells us an entirely different story. It suggests that the Exynos 2600 may perform well, and/or Samsung doesn’t think that the choice of chipsets and minimal hardware upgrades will affect sales negatively.

It is also possible that the leaks and rumours about the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ not offering enough upgrades might not be true, and Samsung has tricks up its sleeves to make the lineup more lucrative than people are expecting it to be.

Samsung plans to sell more Galaxy phones and tablets in 2026 than it did in the last 13 years

According to MK, Samsung aims to sell 240 million units of Galaxy smartphones and 27 million units of Galaxy tablets in 2026. Reportedly, that will bring KRW 130 trillion or $90.7 billion in revenue.

For your reference, Samsung witnessed the highest amount of revenue from Galaxy phones and tablets in 2013, which was KRW 133 trillion. However, right after that, its revenue from these products hovered around KRW 100 trillion for many years. This year, it is expected to touch the KRW 120 trillion mark.
