Earlier this year, Samsung launched the 9100 Pro, the brand’s flagship M.2 NVMe SSD. Back then, the brand made it available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB storage options, and announced that it will launch an 8TB variant by the end of the year. Last week, the company finally unveiled the higher storage version and started taking pre-orders for it in the USA.
Well, Samsung has now made the 9100 Pro SSD with 8TB storage available to purchase in the USA. The South Korean tech giant is offering it in two variants: 9100 Pro and 9100 Pro with Heatsink. The brand has priced the former at $999.99 and the latter at $1,019.99. It is available from Samsung’s official website for the country and authorised retailers.
The Samsung 9100 Pro has an M.2 2280 form factor, works over the NVMe 2.0 protocol, and supports up to PCIe 5.0 x4. The brand has made it with V NAND TLC (V8) technology and it features an in-house controller. The 8TB model comes with 8GB LPDDR4X cache memory.
With that, the 9100 Pro 8TB offers up to 14,800 MB/s sequential read and 13,400 MB/s sequential write speed. It has up to 2,200K IOPS random read and 2,600 IOPS random write speeds. Samsung says that it consumes 10.5W and 8.8W of power during read and write respectively.
The 8TB model has 4,800 TBW capacity and Samsung is offering five years of warranty on the product.
