Samsung has taken its Project Moohan XR headset on several outings this year. It has now been flown to Hawaii where the annual Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit is taking place.
Devices from many of Qualcomm's partners are showcased at the event to highlight how the San Diego-based firm's chips power technologies of the future.
Qualcomm and Samsung share a close relationship, with the latter often using Snapdragon chipsets for its flagship devices. Samsung MX boss TM Roh also made an appearance during the summit's keynote last year.
Samsung's long awaited XR headset has been featured at the summit this year. Like previous outings, it's been kept away from prying hands, with the handset placed inside a glass box. Samsung continues it look but don't touch policy for the headset ahead of its official launch later this year.
Samsung has teamed up with Qualcomm and Google on this headset. A Qualcomm chip powers the XR headset with Google providing the software platform and Samsung taking care of everything else.
The company hasn't confirmed precisely when it intends to launch the headset. However, reports suggest that it may be launched in the coming weeks. Pricing information also remains a mystery at this stage, as does the availability, with some reports suggesting that the XR headset may only be launched in select markets at first.
