Samsung has launched a new feature called Customized Cooling for its room air conditioners (ACs). This feature works with SmartThings-compatible fans and switches to offer more comfort and power savings. This feature is especially designed for the Indian market.
The Customized Cooling feature is made for the Indian market where most people use ACs in combination with fans. Samsung's AI-equipped ACs can now work with WWST (Works with SmartThings) compatible fans and switches to deliver improved comfort and power savings.

Samsung says it found in a survey that over 50% of people in India use ACs and fans simultaneously to save power. So, when their room gets enough cold, they turn off the AC and switch on the fan for a comfortable sleep during the night. However, that means constantly turning the AC and the fan on and off, and that means interrupted sleep. To solve this problem, Samsung introduced the Customized Cooling feature with its 2025 range of Bespoke AI air conditioners.
SmartThings can adjust the AC's and fan's settings automatically throughout the night (and even during the day), so there is no need to constantly fiddle with the controls. It maintains optimal sleeping conditions and offers more power savings. However, it only works if you have SmartThings-compatible smart fans and smart switches.
Samsung hasn't made it clear if this feature would be launched in other countries. Moreover, we haven't seen any smart fan or a smart switch that is available in India and works with SmartThings. So, it remains to be seen how effective the feature turns out to be. Samsung needs to work with smart home device makers in India to launch more SmartThings-compatible products.
