Earlier today, it was rumored that Samsung will bring supercharged videos with the Galaxy S26 lineup via a collection of impressive features. However, some of those rumored features are available on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 already. You need to install an additional app to use them, though.
With the debut of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung introduced several optimisations to the stock Camera app. And the company explained all those improvements via a post on the Samsung Community Forum. We spotted two Motion Photo related features that were rumored to debut with the Galaxy S26 series but are already available in the Galaxy Z Fold 7: Shutter Sound and Timing.
In the Camera Assistant app, which is available as a part of the Good Lock module on Galaxy phones, there is a section called ‘Motion Photo Shutter Sound' where you can adjust the camera capture sound effect and when it is triggered.

For the camera capture sound effect, there are two options: Recording Finished Sound (new) and Camera Shutter Sound (original). For the timing as to when this sound appears, there are two options: When Recording Finishes and When Picture Is Taken.
You can adjust these options as per your preferences by opening the Camera Assistant app on your phone and navigating to Motion Photo Shutter Sound. These features are not available on older phones, such as the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S24, and the Galaxy S25.
Samsung mentioned in its official announcement that it will bring this feature to older Galaxy devices in the future. However, it didn't reveal a timeline for the rollout of this feature via an update to the Camera Assistant app.
