There have recently been some disappointing rumors about the Galaxy S26 Ultra. They highlight that some changes which fans have been keeping their fingers crossed for may not end up materializing.

It seems there's yet another disappointment on the horizon, and this one will crush the hopes of those who've been wishing for a bump in the fast charging speeds.

Maybe don't keep your fingers crossed for 60W charging

Earlier rumors had suggested that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will support wired fast charging at 60W, an upgrade from the existing 45W on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

There has been no change to the maximum fast charging speed for several years now and fans were hopeful that this may finally be rectified in 2026. The hints about the 60W upgrade came from a One UI 8.5 leak but there's a chance that it may not have been accurate.

China's Quality Certification Center has issued a certification for the China-bound variant of the Galaxy S26 Ultra (SM-S9480). It's listed with the same 10V/4.5A or 15V/3A charging support as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which means it's going to max out at 45W.

An earlier certification granted by this certification body had also revealed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra's battery size won't be increased and that it would still be at 5,000mAh. Fans had hoped faster charging speeds would be offered as a consolation prize but that may not be the case.

Expectations for a charging speed increase on the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge were also dashed today as it emerged. They'd stick with the 25W speed that has also been the standard for the sub-Ultra models.

This, coupled with the lack of any significant upgrades for the camera, may not making the upcoming flagship much too exciting for Samsung fans, if this is what's truly going to happen.
