Samsung’s beta version of Android 16-based One UI 8.0 leaked in April 2025. Since then, we have been testing it on our Galaxy S25 to find new features. Over the last few months, the brand has released a few new beta versions of the software, and we have reported what changes each one of them brings, as well as, leaked upcoming features.

Now, with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, we have gotten out hands on the stable version of the software, which offers even more features, most of them specific to foldable devices. After going through it thoroughly we finally have the One UI 8 complete guide video for you, which you can check out below.

One UI 8 isn’t as big of an update as One UI 7. That is, the former doesn’t bring as many new features to the table as the latter. However, it does offer a lot of upgrades.

One UI 8 brings subtle design changes to Quick Panel and offers Back Swipe Preview

Starting with the Quick Panel, One UI 8 offers a border around each quick settings section, a minor change that make them look more sophisticated. Second, you get Back Swipe Preview, which, when you start swiping from the left to the right edge of the display to go back, it pulls the current window to the right and shows the preview of what the previous window has in the background on the left. This feature makes navigating easier and saves your time.

You get revamped Quick Share, plus Call Captions and Real Time Text features

One UI 8’s Quick Share offers Receive and Send tabs, which makes it more convenient to receive and share files. There are few new features for calls as well, including Call Captions and Real Time Text (RTT). The former can show captions of what the other person on the call is saying in real-time, whereas, the latter allows you to chat with the other person on the call in real-time, without leaving the call window, a nifty feature for people with certain disabilities.

Samsung apps get new design and features

One UI 8 also brings new features and design changes to multiple Samsung apps. Starting with Gallery, it now offers Private Album and new icons. The My Files app offers a redesigned Categories section with new icons. Reminders gets a new layout with fresh icons. The Calendar app gets Event and Reminder tabs. In the Settings section, you get upgraded Battery Protection. It now offers Basic, Maximum, and Adaptive Protection options.

One UI 8 brings upgrades to Galaxy AI's Audio Eraser, Browsing Assist, Generative Edit, and Now Brief

As for upgrades to Galaxy AI, the stable version of One UI 8 brings new features to Browsing Assist, Generative Edit, Audio Eraser, and Now Brief. However, updates for the first two are specific to the Fold.

Starting with Browsing Assist, you can now undock it from the bottom the display, drag it (change its location on the screen), and resize it, to improve your productivity. As for Generative Edit, it now shows before and after photos side-by-side and when you zoom in on one image, it zooms in on the other image as well, which makes it easier to compare the edited and unedited photos.

As for Audio Eraser, it is now available in the Gallery, Notes, and Voice Recorder apps. In the Gallery app, you can access it while viewing a video, where it automatically recognises and removes unwanted sounds in real time. In the Voice Recorder app, you can use it to remove unwanted noise from call recordings as well.

Coming to Now Brief, it now offers three more information card types, parking spot reminder, smart home, and wearable battery alerts. Plus, it can now speak the summary out aloud. Lastly, the Wallpaper section can now scan your Gallery, automatically recognise images that may look good as wallpapers, and recommend those to you.
