Samsung’s latest smartphones with foldable displays, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7, brought with them the brand’s stable version of Android 16-based One UI 8.0. It offers many new features, including upgraded Galaxy AI, Call Captions, Real-Time Text, revamped Quick Panel, and Samsung apps with a new design and features. However, it also has a serious bug that may make important calls, messages, and notifications, as well as alarms, go unnoticed.
On our Galaxy Z Fold 7, we noticed that Do Not Disturb (DND) preferences reset automatically every now and then. For instance, we customised DND to allow calls and messages from certain contacts, notifications from certain apps, and alarms and sounds, and the next morning, we found that our preferences were lost, meaning that the phone silences every notification when DND is on, making important things go unnoticed, as you can see in the screenshot below.

Recently, the brand released the fifth beta version of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 series, and according to its changelog, it fixes the DND issue. However, there’s no such update available for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and other devices running One UI 8 beta.
Many people have been complaining about it. We hope that Samsung quickly releases an update for these devices to address the problem. After all, many people use the Do Not Disturb feature on a daily basis, and its failure to function properly may result in serious consequences.
