Samsung is trying to release the One UI 8.0 update to as many eligible devices as possible. Today, it has released the update to at least eight phones, and one of them is the Galaxy M35. This mid-range value-for-money smartphone is getting its second major Android OS update.

Galaxy M35 gets One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update

The Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update has started rolling out (via Mohammed Khatri) to the Galaxy M35 in India. The new software comes with firmware version M356BXXU5CY18 and has a download size of around 2.3GB. It includes the September 2025 security patch instead of this month's (October) security patch.

The update will likely be released in other countries where the phone was launched. The phone was originally launched with Android 14 and One UI 6.0 onboard. It received the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update a few months ago.

Now that it has received the One UI 8.0 update, it will get two more Android OS updates in the next couple of years. The Android 17 (One UI 9.0) update will likely be released in 2026 and the Android 18 (One UI 10) update could be released in 2027.

If you live in India and have a Galaxy M35, you should check for the update right away. You can do that by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install on your phone. Then, once the download is finished, tap the Install now button. The Galaxy M35 will restart after a few minutes and you can then start using One UI 8.0 on your phone.
