Samsung has released the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update for the Galaxy M54. The company has already released this update to several other mid-range smartphones over the past couple of weeks. It could finish the rollout of the update in the coming weeks.
The Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update for the Galaxy M54 is now available in several Asian and Latin American countries. It comes bearing firmware version M546BXXU9EY14 and a download size of around 2.4GB. The new software uses last month's security patch instead of the October 2025 security patch.
Currently, the new update is available in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Iraq, Israel, Mexico, Malaysia, Morocco, New Zealand, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, the UAE, and Vietnam.

If you have a Galaxy M54 and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you should check for the new software update on your device. To do that, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. After the phone downloads the update file completely, tap the Install now button on the same screen. Your Galaxy M54 will then restart after a few minutes.
Samsung launched the Galaxy M54 in 2023 with Android 13 onboard. Later that year, the phone received the Android 14 (One UI 6.0) update. Earlier this year, the Android 15 (One UI 7.0) update was released to the device. Now, it is getting its third major Android OS update. It will get its fourth and final Android OS (Android 17) update next year.
One UI 8.0 brings a major redesign to the Quick Share screen, which now has a full-screen UI and two separate tabs (Send and Receive). It also brings new designs for Samsung Internet and Samsung Weather apps. It also introduces better management features for alarms, calendar entries, and reminders.
Samsung has also improved Bluetooth Auracast support and made the Secure Folder even more secure. The Camera app now has a new gesture to show or hide quick camera controls. Profile Cards and the screen to display recorded calls now have a better design.
The Samsung Health app now supports the Running Challenge feature and offers food logging reminders. The Modes and Routines app now has more actions and conditions. It is now also easier to find downloaded files. The My Files app also has a slightly tweaked UI design.
