Samsung released the first One UI 8.0 beta update for the Galaxy S23 series yesterday. It brought Android 16 and new and improved features to the phones in the lineup. However, one major Galaxy AI-powered feature that debuted earlier this year is missing from the new software.
The Now Brief feature, which debuted with the Galaxy S25 earlier this year, is missing from the first beta version of One UI 8.0 on the Galaxy S23 series. Since the feature was released to the Galaxy S24 series a few days ago with the One UI 8.0 beta update and was seen running on the Galaxy S23 series (by sideloading the APK) without many issues, Galaxy S23 users expected to see it on their phones with the One UI 8.0 beta update. However, the feature is nowhere to be found.
You can see the complete list of Galaxy AI features that One UI 8.0 supports on the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Now Brief is powered by Galaxy AI, and it uses data from stock Samsung apps and some Google and third-party apps to display time-relevant personalized information. It can display things like the weather for the day, your meetings and calendar entries, flight details, reminders, music playlists from Spotify and YouTube, memories from the day, your health data, and more. On supported devices, it can be accessed via Now Bar, Side Panel, and its dedicated widget.
It isn't clear if the future beta versions of One UI 8 will bring the Now Brief feature to the Galaxy S23 series. We think Samsung will keep the feature limited to the Galaxy S24 series and newer high-end phones.
