One UI 8 (Android 16) will be the first of seven major OS upgrades for the Galaxy S25 series. Before releasing the official update, Samsung will let users in some markets test it through its yearly One UI beta program. But here's the big question: will the One UI 8 beta program support all Galaxy S25 models?

The Galaxy S25 series currently includes four models: the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge. Samsung will also launch a fifth model, the Galaxy S25 FE, sometime later this year, but the FE will come with One UI 8 preloaded, so it isn't a part of the conversation as far as the One UI 8 beta program is concerned.

Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra will likely be the only models supported

In fact, Samsung has always excluded Galaxy S FE smartphones from One UI beta programs. The privilege is preserved for the base, Plus, and Ultra models – specifically, those unveiled during the official launch of the latest Galaxy S lineup early every year.

Given this long-standing pattern, we can safely assume the One UI 8 beta will not support the Galaxy S25 Edge. If it does, it's likely that the Edge model won't get the beta at the same time as the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, as according to our sources, no beta One UI 8 firmware exists for the Galaxy S25 Edge as of May 26.

What about other Galaxy smartphones? Although Samsung hasn't officially confirmed anything, we've put together a tentative list of devices that could get the One UI 8 beta, and you can check it out here.
