Samsung had announced last month that it will expand the One UI 8 Beta Program for devices other than those in the Galaxy S25 series. And the Galaxy A55 was one of those devices. Staying true to its promise, Samsung has now released the first One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy A55.

Galaxy A55 gets first One UI 8.0 beta update

The first One UI 8.0 beta update, based on Android 16, is now available for the Galaxy A55. The update is live in India and could be released in other eligible countries very soon. The update comes with firmware version A556EXXUAZYH6 and has a download size of around 1.9GB. It includes the September 2025 security patch as well to make the phone more secure.

You can see the details of the update in the screenshots attached below.

If you have a Galaxy A55 and live in India, you can beta-test the new software on your device. However, it could be filled with critical bugs, so install it on your device keeping the risks in mind.

If you want to participate in the beta program, install the Samsung Members app on your Galaxy A55 from the Galaxy Store or the Google Play Store and then sign into the app using the same Samsung Account you have used on your phone. After signing into the app, tap the One UI 8 Beta Program notice and register your device.

Once your phone has been enrolled into the One UI 8 Beta Program, check for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Once the new update is downloaded, tap the Install now button. The phone will restart after a few minutes and you will be able to use the beta version of One UI 8.0.
