Samsung’s Android 16-based One UI 8.0 brings many new features. Among those, two are related to Secure Folder. First, it uses Android’s Private Space API for Secure Folder instead of proprietary technology that the brand used earlier. Second, it offers a Secure Folder toggle in the Quick Access panel, which hides the Secure Folder app icon from the app drawer. Well, today, we are learning that it bring another new feature for Secure Folder.
Folks at Android Authority have discovered that One UI 8 brings a new option to Secure Folder settings, called ‘Show Secure Folder apps in share panel’. Its description reads “Apps installed in Secure Folder will appear when you share things, even when sharing from apps not in Secure Folder.” When enabled, it shows apps installed in Secure Folder in the share panel when sharing items from apps that are not installed in Secure Folder.

There could be many people who want to share documents, media, or text from apps installed normally to those installed in Secure Folder. The new options makes it possible for them to do so. From what we could gather, this option is disabled by default. To activate it, go to Secure Folder » Settings » Other Security Settings.
Currently, Samsung is testing One UI 8 on the Galaxy S25 series. The brand is expected to debut its stable version with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Soon after that, it should start rolling out the update to all the eligible devices. You can check if your device is eligible for the update or not, here.
