Transferring eSIMs among iPhones or Android devices is simple enough, but it can be a bit of a challenge if you're transferring one from your iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy phone.

Fortunately, it appears that Samsung wants to make this process easier. The company is working on a tool for One UI 8.5 that would simplify the process for iPhone owners to transfer their eSIM to one of its phones.

If you wish to transfer the eSIM between an iPhone and Galaxy phone right now, you have to contact your carrier. It can be easy to a headache, depending on how good your carrier's customer service is, but it goes without saying that there's room for improvement here.

AndroidAuthority has found references to a new tool in One UI 8.5 that would simplify the process. Your new Galaxy phone will provide you with a separate option to transfer an eSIM from iPhone when setting up the device on One UI 8.5. Based on how the workflow is laid out, it probably won't take more than a few taps to make this happen.

Google has worked with Apple to make this process easier for devices running Android 16 and iOS 26. It allows for effortless transfer between iOS and Pixel phones with eSIMs from Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. It's likely that Samsung's tool will also support these three major US carriers, alongside wider support for carriers in other regions that also offer eSIMs.

One UI 8.5 isn't set to arrive until next year. The new Galaxy S26 series will likely be the first to come with the firmware out of the box, with the rest of the eligible devices receiving the stable version not long after that.
