One UI 8.5 isn't due until early next year, but there's a lot that has already become public about the next major firmware update, thanks to a leaked build that's surfaced.
Our colleagues over at imeisource's YouTube channel have put together a detailed video that dives into everything that's new in Samsung's next big update.
One UI 8.5 is shaping up to be quite a significant update. That was to be expected since One UI 8.0 is more of an exercise in refinement as Samsung had already made significant improvements with One UI 7, including an overhaul of the user interface.
Based on everything that we've seen so far, Samsung is not just making some tweaks to the user interface but also introducing several new features and improvements with the upcoming release.
AI is going to be front and center with this update, as the company is incorporating it into existing as well as new features to deliver a more intelligent user experience. There will be new Galaxy AI tools as well that will further expand the suite of artificial intelligence capabilities available on Samsung devices.
Samsung is likely to going to release One UI 8.5 to eligible devices early next year. The Galaxy S26 series may be the first to come with the firmware straight out of the box.
