Just moments ago, Samsung announced the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series and released the update in Europe and South Korea. Now, the beta update has been released in the US as well. People who register their Galaxy S25 series device in the beta program can now install the beta software.
Samsung has released the first One UI 8.5 beta update, based on Android 16, for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra in the USA. The update comes bearing firmware version S93xU1UEU7ZYL8 and has a download size of around 1.3GB. It includes the December 2025 security patch to make the device more secure.
Currently, the update is only available for the unlocked variants of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The beta program is not for the Galaxy S25 Edge and the Galaxy S25 FE, at least for now.
If you have already registered your device in the beta program, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the update is downloaded completely, tap the Install now button to start the installation procedure. Your device will then restart after a few minutes.

One UI 8.5 brings several new and improved features and a new design language for stock apps. It also brings updated app icons with depth effect. It also lets you customize the Quick Panel completely. Some other new features include Auracast broadcasting improvements, Generative AI image editing revisions, and Storage Share.
