Samsung has officially released the first One UI 8.5 beta update, following weeks of internal test builds leaking online. The beta is now available for the Galaxy S25 series in Germany.

As with previous One UI beta programs, you can sign up to test One UI 8.5 through the Samsung Members app on your phone. Once you’ve registered, simply head to Settings > Software update > Download and install to get the One UI 8.5 beta update.

In case you're wondering, the Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy S25 Edge will not be getting the One UI 8.5 beta. You’ll need a Galaxy S25, S25+, or S25 Ultra to participate. This will no doubt disappoint owners of the FE and Edge models, but it’s in line with Samsung’s usual approach. The company traditionally limits One UI beta programs to the main trio of Galaxy S devices.

We expect the beta to be released in the US, UK, Korea, and Germany today. The second phase will come later and will add India and Poland to the beta program.
