Samsung has been testing the upcoming One UI 8.5 update on the Galaxy S25 series in Korea for nearly two months. If you missed your chance to join the testing phase, that ship has sailed. All One UI 8.5 beta slots are now full, and Samsung says it is no longer accepting applications.
That’s the message Galaxy S25 fans in Korea are now seeing. Registrations for the One UI 8.5 beta program are officially closed, and Samsung says it currently has no plans to bring in additional testers.
This doesn’t mean the beta itself is over. The program is still very much active, but it now relies entirely on Galaxy S25 users who were already accepted.
In fact, evidence suggests Samsung is preparing a fourth One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series. That alone indicates testing is still ongoing, even if the door is closed to new applicants.

The One UI 8.5 beta program debuted in Korea on December 8. Since then, Samsung hasn’t shared an official One UI 8.5 roadmap, but the pattern is familiar. Major One UI versions typically debut alongside new flagship phones.
With that in mind, One UI 8.5 is widely expected to go stable and launch with the Galaxy S26 series next month. Once the beta wraps up and the S26 series goes live, the Galaxy S25 lineup should be first in line for the OTA (over-the-air) update.
As for the One UI 8.5 beta program in other markets, it’s unclear whether Samsung has stopped accepting One UI 8.5 beta applications only in Korea. Needless to say, if you haven’t joined yet, this may be your last chance to try, at least outside Korea.
