Samsung’s Android 16-based One UI 8.0 brings many upgrades. One of them is redesigned Quick Share. In One UI 7, when you access the quick settings panel and tap on the Quick Share icon, it shows a pop-up to customise who can share content with you. In One UI 8, when you tap on the Quick Share button, it shows a full-screen interface with Send and Receive tabs, making it easier to exchange content. Well, that change is finally becoming available to non-Samsung Android devices.

Google is rolling out an update to Quick Share for Android devices. It offers the same redesign as One UI 8’s Quick Share brings with it (via Android Authority). That is, when you tap on Quick Share, it brings up a full-screen UI with Send and Receive tabs, as you can see in the screenshots below. Reportedly, Google is rolling out the update to select devices and regions, and a full-fledged release hasn’t taken place yet. There's no info if Galaxy phones with older One UI version are getting it.

The Send tab lets you select and preview files before sharing them with other people, giving you one more option to send files apart from selecting items in app, opening the share menu, and tapping Quick Share. Whereas, the Receive tab clears people’s confusion about how to use Quick Share to receive files.

For people who have been using only Galaxy smartphones or tablets for while and wondering when did Samsung open up Quick Share to other Android devices, last year, Google and Samsung merged Nearby Share and Quick Share, and named it Quick Share. Since then, it has been available on all Android devices.
