Samsung has finally released the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy A06, which is one of its cheapest smartphones right now. This is the first major Android OS update for the device, and it has arrived almost one year after the launch of the smartphone.
The 5G variant of the phone hasn't received the update yet. You can read all One UI 7 features in more detail here.
The Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update is now available for the Galaxy A06 (4G LTE version) in select Asian countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The update might have also been released in some other countries. It comes with firmware version A065FXXU4BYF6 and has a download size of around 3GB.
It includes the May 2025 security patch instead of the latest (June 2025) patch. You can check the firmware details in the screenshots below.

If you have a Galaxy A06 and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can check for the new update by heading over to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Then, once the downloading process is finished, tap the Install now button to start the installation process. The phone will restart after a few minutes once the installation process is finished.
The Galaxy A06 was launched in August 2024 with Android 14 onboard. Samsung promised to offer two major Android OS updates and four years of security patches to the phone. So, it will get one more Android OS update (Android 16-based One UI 8.0) in the future. And after that, it will only get security patches.
One UI 7.0 brings a major UI redesign to the Galaxy A06. The new design features two separate pages for notifications and Quick Panel. Notifications are now bigger and appear in full-width pill-shaped elements with the same icons as the associated app in the app drawer. Notifications from the same app are stacked on top of each other. The Quick Panel is now more customizable and includes the volume slide. By default, you access the Quick Panel by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen. However, you can merge notifications and Quick Panel together if you want to use the old method.
All the stock apps now have slightly more modern looking icons. Those apps have also received slight design improvements and new features. Animations and transitions are a lot smoother. There is a new battery icon and a battery charging animation.
Now Bar is a new UI element that appears on the lock screen, notifications screen, and the status bar. It shows ongoing activities like live sports scores, stopwatch, timer, and more.
The home screen now supports improved landscape mode and has Large Folders. One UI 7 also brings lots of new widgets and new widget styling and customizations. You can add or hide app and widget labels.
Samsung has improved the Camera app's design. It is now easlier to use with one hand, as all the important options and UI elements are closer to your fingers. It has enhanced zoom controls and filters. Pro and Pro Video modes have been improved as well. Grid and level lines can help you capture better images and videos.
It is easier to replay the video, as the replay button appears once you are finished watching the video in the built-in video player. Smart Select offers more suggested actions based on what you select on the screen. The Weather app shows if the conditions are good for outdoor activities like camping, cycling, gardening, running, and more. You can add custom labels for places in the Weather app.
The built-in image and video editors can create freeform collages (including in Stories). Samsung Health has a new Mindfulness feature and new badges. When multiple pop-up windows of the same app are opened, they are minimized in the same app icon, and clicking that icon displays previews for all pop-up windows.
You can group your alarms to manage them faster. You can also unify the volumes of all alarms or have a custom volume for each of them. You can easily reschedule events in the stock Calendar app. You also have more controls over which calendars are displayed in widgets.
You can even move all events from one calendar account to another. It is easier to create reminders in the stock Reminder app via a quick add option that has preset for location and time conditions. You can now choose multiple dates for repeating a reminder and clear all the completed reminders using a new option. You can also duplicate completed reminders so that you can create reminders faster without adding all the information again.
There is a new file picker for easier file preview and upload. Modes and Routines have new conditions and options. They also give you the If-Else logic and the ability to get data as variables. There are more options for battery health protection and charging.
