It's not uncommon to find yourself in a situation where you miss a package delivery notification and it ends up being stolen right from your doorstep. Fortunately, Samsung appears to be working on a solution that could help you stay on top of your package notifications to ensure they're received safely.
Samsung envisages doing that by providing delivery message alerts through Now Brief on devices running One UI 7 and up. Since you're more likely to glance at the New Brief when interacting with your device, the idea is that these alerts will serve as reminders to make appropriate arranges for safe delivery of packages.
Android Authority did a teardown of the Samsung Messages app APK and found some new strings of code that hint at a delivery message alert feature for New Brief. The strings indicate that Now Brief will notify you if there are messages concerning a delivery or multiple deliveries on that day.
You'll then be able to see at one glance what deliveries are going to arrive on the day and make the required arrangements. It's even going to show if multiple messages have been received for a particular delivery, as it's common to get many messages for a single delivery.
What's noteworthy is that Samsung already started replacing its native Messages app on its phone with Google Messages last year. Yet, it continues to work on new features for the app, including birthday reminders, emoji reactions, live location sharing, and more. Evidently, Samsung sees some kind of future for the app, even if it's no longer pre-installed on some Galaxy devices.
