Samsung released the fifth One UI 8.0 beta update to the Galaxy S25 series in select countries. The new software not only solved a lot of bugs discovered in the previous update but also brought a minor but tasty feature. It is called Adaptive Clock, and it brings some fun to your lock screen.
The fifth One UI 8.0 beta update, which was released for the Galaxy S25 series yesterday, introduces a new lock screen clock style. This feature was first spotted a few weeks ago in the leaked One UI 8.0 beta builds. It changes its font size, orientation, and layout depending on the subject or object visible in the lock screen wallpaper. It adapts to the space surrounding the subject, making it appear more dynamic.

To use this feature in the best way possible, you would need a wallpaper in which a person, animal/pet, or any other object is clearly distinguishable from the background. On the lock screen customization screen, when you move the clock around the subject in the wallpaper, the clock's shape and layout adjust depending on the outline of the subject.
If you want to use this feature, head over to the lock screen customization screen and tap on the clock. Then, disable fancy clock designs and choose something simple. Then, in the Font and Colour tab, select the second option with animations. In the Style tab, choose the first option for a stacked design or the second option for the horizontal design.
We also advise you to activate the AOD Wallpaper feature because the transition from the AOD screen to the lock screen looks quite beautiful.
