Performing a Normal (Soft) Reset on a LG Optimus GT540

A normal reset is sometimes referred to as a soft reset. A normal reset stops all running applications but does not erase any programs or saved data.
Caution be sure to save any unsaved data before performing a normal reset since a normal reset erases all unsaved data.
To perform a soft reset:

  1. Press

    >
    lg_optimus_soft_reset.jpg
    > Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset.
  2. If you are certain that you would like to restore all factory settings, tap Reset phone.
Performing a Hard Reset on a LG Optimus GT540

A full reset is sometimes referred to as a hard reset. Perform a full reset when you want to clear all settings, programs and data from RAM.
Caution if you perform a full reset, your LG Smartphone returns to its default settings and looses all information that is not recorded in ROM.
(CAUTION! If you perform a factory (full) reset, all user applications and user data will be deleted. Please remember to back up any important data before performing a factory reset.)
To perform a factory (hard) reset:

  1. Turn the power off.
  2. Press and hold the following keys for over 5 seconds: Down volume key +

  3. When the power turns on, release these keys.
