The Galaxy A3x series has had an unusual journey in the last few years, particularly regarding Samsung's chipset choices. The series hasn't really gained a significant performance boost since the Galaxy A34, but I hope 2026 will change that.

Considering the fact that the A34, A35, and A36 were powered by the Dimensity 1080, Exynos 1380, and Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chips, respectively, it's virtually impossible to predict what silicon (brand) the upcoming Galaxy A37 might use.

But if Samsung does what I hope it will, the Galaxy A37 might be the first real performance upgrade for Galaxy A34 users who have been waiting for a power boost for the past few years. And my hope is that the Exynos 1580 chip, which currently powers the Galaxy A56, will trickle down and reach the Galaxy A37 next year.

The Galaxy A56 has been doing great thanks to the Exynos 1580 SoC. The latter chip isn't powerful enough to compete with flagships in demanding 3D games and applications, but thanks to the Exynos 1580, the A56 is the first Galaxy A phone to offer a near-flawless One UI experience similar to more expensive models.

If Samsung decides to bring this chip to the Galaxy A37 next year, it will be a substantial upgrade for Galaxy A34 users, in particular. All three chips powering the last three generations since the A34 perform more or less the same. But the benefits the Exynos 1580 could bring would be more than noticeable.

Of course, Samsung could hold on to the Exynos 1580 and, instead, equip the Galaxy A37 with a different brand of chips or maybe the less powerful Exynos 1480.

Nevertheless, I hope the company will elevate and truly refresh the A3x series next year after a few not-so-impressive sequels. Granted, other aspects were improved over the past few generations, but performance has somewhat stagnated because of Samsung's unusual chip strategy.

But after all these years, I think it might be time for the Galaxy A3x series to join the Exynos family and stay only one step behind the A5x lineup year after year. With the A57 reportedly adopting a new Exynos 1680 chip, it would be a great deal for the A37 to use the Exynos 1580.

I think Galaxy A34 users who have been holding off from upgrading their phones would benefit the most. Not to mention people who own older models.

So, if you have been waiting for a real performance upgrade, let's all hope Samsung delivers. Keep a close eye on our news section and we'll keep you posted as soon as we find out more about next year's Galaxy A37.
