Samsung introduced the Now Bar with One UI 7, and this feature has now integrated with Android 16’s Live Updates in One UI 8. As a result, Google will now be able to display your flight and train-related live updates in the Now Bar on compatible Samsung phones.

Google Wallet gains Live Updates feature with new update

The new version of the Google Wallet app now includes (via 9To5Google) the Live Updates feature. This means it can display real-time updates “for key travel journeys” on compatible Android phones. According to Google, you can get live status of your flights, train journeys, and other events. For example, you can get boarding time and gate change updates without any hassle.

With this feature, you may be able to see flight completion status right on your AOD screen (on compatible models), lock screen, and the status bar on your Galaxy phone running One UI 8. Samsung Wallet already has a similar functionality.

This new feature should be available on devices that have version 25.41 of Google Play services. Since Samsung has started rolling out One UI 8 to most compatible Galaxy devices, they should be ready for the new functionality that Google Wallet brings.

Other new features of Google Wallet include getting a notification for importing a loyalty pass from Gmail. This feature works on devices running Android 12 (One UI 4). It also gives the ability to add cards through issuer apps, so your bank's app should be able to add your credit or debit card directly to Google Wallet.
