With the One UI 7.0 update, Samsung brought Gemini integration to three stock apps on Galaxy phones and tablets: Calendar, Notes, and Reminder. With the Galaxy S26 series, the company has added integration with one more stock app in One UI 8.5: Samsung Gallery.

On our Galaxy S26 Ultra, we noticed that Gemini now has an option to integrate with Samsung Gallery. It lets you search for photos and videos in the gallery using Gemini. For example, you can say, âFind photos of me with my d** from this summer,â and Gemini will surface all the matching photos from the Gallery app on your Galaxy phone.

Some other ways to use this integration include:

    • Finding photos from a particular location and date.
    • Finding photos by keyword and location.
    • Sending photos of a particular subject from a particular location and date to a person in your contacts.

You can also ask Gemini to share photos from your phone's gallery with someone through a particular app. However, you cannot ask Gemini to delete photos or videos, share videos, or copy or move them from one album to another in the Gallery app.

Galaxy S25 series phones running the One UI 8.5 beta do not have this Gemini integration. This suggests that the feature is currently available only in the stable version of One UI 8.5.

Google and Samsung should work together to bring more such integrations in future versions of One UI. Some capabilities we hope to see include Gemini's integration with Samsung Browser, Samsung Health, and SmartThings.

They are already working on bringing Agentic AI capabilities to Android on the Galaxy S26 series and future Galaxy devices, and those features were showcased during the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event last month.
