Samsung was shamed for launching foldable phones that were too thick compared to the competition. So, the company will come back with a bang this year. Apparently, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be the world's thinnest foldable smartphone when it launches after two months.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be 8.9mm thin when folded

Reliable tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) has claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is just 3.9mm thin when unfolded and 8.9mm thin when unfolded, making it the thinnest smartphone in the world. It reportedly features a 4,400mAh battery. Samsung will reportedly use a new battery and charging technology in its upcoming high-end phones.

They also claimed that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a 4,300mAh battery, which was already revealed via a certification document last week. Samsung will reportedly continue to the strategy of launching thin and light phones rather than equipping its phones with high-capacity batteries. The base Galaxy S26 model will reportedly be a slim phone.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be announced in July 2025. Both phones will launch with Android 16 and One UI 8.0 onboard. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will reportedly use the Exynos 2500 processor.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge in the next few days. The phone is said to be 5.8mm thin. A leak revealed that the upcoming device features a 6.7-inch screen, a 200MP+12MP dual-camera setup on the rear, a 12MP selfie camera, the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB storage, and a 3,900mAh battery.
