Samsung recently started hyping up the Galaxy Z Fold 7 before its launch. The company revealed a silhoutte of the phone, teasing its ultra-slim body. Previous reports, too, have hinted the possibility of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 being the world's thinnest foldable smartphone, but it appears to have a big camera bump.

Galaxy Z Fold 7's big camera bump revealed

A couple of images of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 enclosed in a case appeared recently, revealing the phone's camera layout. The phone seems to have a big, double-sized camera bump with respect to its ultra-slim frame. It has a vertical camera island on which there appear to be three individual camera rings. This large camera bump is likely due to the phone's 1/1.4-inch 200MP camera.

The other two cameras include a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. Its ultrawide camera might have autofocus, just like the Galaxy S25 Edge, but it isn't confirmed yet. It reportedly has an improved under-display front-facing camera and a 10MP cover display selfie camera.

Samsung has already revealed that the phone will be able to understand what you're looking at, and it could be teasing some AI features with that announcement.

We can also see the phone's slim power button (which doubles as a fingerprint reader) and volume rocker on the right side. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to feature a titanium backplate, but it isn't clear if it uses an Armor Aluminum frame or a titanium frame. Just like its predecessor, the upcoming foldable will likely feature an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance.

The phone is said to feature a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen, an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x foldable screen, and stereo speakers. It is powered by a 4,400mAh battery that supports 25W fast wired charging and 15W Qi2 Ready wireless charging. It features the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB storage options, 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, UWB, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

We exclusively revealed months ago that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will run Android 16-based One UI 8.0 out of the box. As usual, the phone will get seven major Android OS updates and up to seven years of security patches. It means the phone will get updated up to Android 23.
