Samsung is rolling out new software updates to its foldable smartphones from last year, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. They offer the January 2026 security patch, which fixes a total of 55 security issues present in the previous version of the OS.

Currently, Samsung is rolling out the update in its home country, South Korea. The update for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is 389.99MB in size and carries firmware version F741NKSS2CZA1 (via Samsung Community).

Usually, after releasing a software update in its home country, Samsung starts rolling it out in other regions a few days later. To check if the brand has made the January 2026 security patch available for your Galaxy Z Fold 6 or the Galaxy Z Flip 6, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Speaking of software updates, Samsung is beta testing One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2), its latest version of One UI for Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 are eligible to get it. It offers a redesigned UI and many new features, which you can check out in our video below.
