Samsung has released a new software update for its foldable phone that was launched four years ago. It is the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and it is getting the June 2025 security update. However, the problem is that the security update is already a month old, and July started two days ago.
A new software update is now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It comes with firmware version F926BXXSDJYF1 and includes the June 2025 security patch that fixes dozens of security vulnerabilities that were present in the previous software. The update doesn't bring any new features or performance enhancements.
The update is available across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Samsung hasn't released this update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the USA yet, and it could arrive in the next few days. It would be better if Samsung just releases the July 2025 security update to the phone in the USA.
If you have a Galaxy Z Fold 3 and live in the regions mentioned above, you can now check for the new update on your phone. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Once the update files are downloaded completely, tap the Install now button. The phone will then restart after a few minutes once the installation process is done.
You can also download the new firmware file from imeisource's firmware database and flash it manually if you have a computer running Windows OS and has the Odin tool installed. You need to be well-versed in the manual firmware flashing process, though, and back up all your important data and files in a safe location.
Since the phone was launched with a promise of four major Android OS updates, it won't get the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update later this year. Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update was its last major software update. Going forward, it will only get security patches.
